Elul Inner Introspection

On Rosh Hashanah, the universe is judged.
Elul, (the month before judgment), is a time of introspection.
A time of clarifying one’s goals in life, and of coming closer to Hashem.

It is a time to reaffirm, one’s purpose in the world; and to find meaning, in every moment of one's life.

It is a time, to improve the quality of one’s life.

Hashem is close to us at this time. He is like a King, who leaves his guarded palace, and goes out to meet his beloved subjects, fact to face.

But He also wants us, to do something in return. He wants us to return to Him, through reaffirming our desire to serve him-Teshuvah. He also wants to hear our voices, crying out to him- Prayer. And he wants us to elevate our actions- Tzedakah.
